Day 9 – Listowel to kenmare

Had been connected the previous evening with JP and Fidelma  Welsh. A lovely Irish couple who Pastor Listowel Christian Fellowship. After a hearty breakfast and a time of prayer I got on the road headed for Tralee and then Killarney.

Legs a little tired this morning after a big and faster day (chasing the ferry) yesterday but once again a headwind and headed through the lovely parks of Listowel and then the 25km to Tralee.

Spent much of the time praying for awakening and church planting.

Particularly in the South i have had some interesting run ins with dogs .. today on three occassions dogs just loose on the road took an interest barking and chasing as I go from a leisurely cadence to an all out sprint! I’m sure The Lord was laughing!

I then arrived into Killarney. The town.. I was like what is everyone going on about?  But then I rode round the lake and my questions were answered.

While riding through Kilarney I felt to give a young guy  a testimony booklet that he received and i was then off round the lake and up into the mountains. I was a little apprehensive.. the forecast wasn’t good and wind against (causing me have to peddle down the hills) it’s an interesting dynamic when your solo and self supported particularly crossing mountains with storms forecast.

On my 1st ride through The Outer Hebrides i got to a village called Leverbrough. It was evening ai arrived on the ferry wind was blowing force 6/7 no chance of putting a tent up, no walls or hedges and every B and B closed. I prayed and ended up riding over to Tarbert which was similar to crossing Snowdonia in a storm. It turned out fine but somewhat challenging. Yesterday felt it had the potential to be similar but all good.. just high winds and a spot of rain.

Due to forecast i booked a B and B in Kenmare hopefully leaving me 75km tomorrow to finish at Mizen Point.
