The thing about the green and pleasant land is there’s a reason its green and that usually suggests water.. specifically rain!
I didn’t see much rain but many creeks and that meant lots of gravel strewn, leaf covered roads and tracks down to small bridges and river crossings. Indeed very beautiful but then what followed are some of the steepest roads in the UK.
How tarmac stays in place, I do not know!
Anyway.. I left my wild camp spot just after 7am and headed for King Harry Ferry.
I left KHF and headed up past Trelissik and over towards Helston for an appointment with Bob and Jane Dunnett.
Bob had been one of the former leaders of Birmingham Bible College and since been a prayer leader and teacher. Now in his 90’s we had a great chat about the world and then a time of prayer after fish and chips. Bob always full of good advice pointed out that “Old people… know more.”
After our meeting I got back on the bike and headed the 15 miles to Marazion where I met the family and the children joined me for a ride to Penzance and the older three the hilly 12 miles to Lands End.
I felt quite emotional upon arrival Lands End.. its been quite a project circumnavigating the Britosh mainland. Once settled we took some customery photos at the finger post (mileage incorrect 😉) and then went and had a cliff top picnic with the family.
I spent sometime thanking Jesus for all he had undertaken with and for me. As well as having a zoom call with all those who had been part of the journey (to all of you thankyou)
A truly memorable and incredible experience.
Will wrote more in due course.
