Had a day of rest yesterday and as trains from Exmouth run via Exeter to Barnstaple it was.. “rude not to”
So this morning we loaded the van with 5 bikes and 7 people and took the drive back down to Exmouth to the same spot I’d finished 36hrs before.
We rode North towards Exeter stopping outside Lympstone Marine base to pray for the soldiers and for safety of the UK.
After stopping for ice cream at Aldi we continued to cross the Exe at Countess Weir and then headed back South towards Dawlish and to Starcross.
We met up with Mary at Powderam. Re loaded the car and had a picnic watching the deer from a distance. We again said goodbye and Mary and the Children headed back North to Barnstaple for a commitment in the prayer room (ndhop.org) while I headed North and West out towards dartmoor and onto Plymouth.
This last leg I’ve really been a bit more conservative with the bike. It’s faithfully carried me many miles and I’m keen we get to arrive at Lands End in the next few days.
So I continued skirting the South edge of Dartmoor. Stopping for food in Ashburton and then looking into Buckfast Abbey.
Buckfast Abbey had an interesting ‘vibe’ should I say.. more prayer and then on my way again.
This time via Ivybridge and then Plympton and onto Eggbuckland to stay with friends Mark and Jane. (See day 3 from 1st trip)
Mark cooked an amazing meal then I got to meet their housegroup and share some testimony.
Checked in with the family and then into bed.
